Eileen Gleeson Visits Scoil Íosagáin

Scoil Íosagáin had one of those very special occasions when we were privileged to welcome Eileen Gleeson, Manager of the Ireland Ladies' Soccer team, to our school. It all happened because Katie, now in 6th class, wrote to Eileen a few months ago, telling her how much she admired her. Eileen was so touched by Katie's letter that she wanted to come to Scoil Íosagáin to meet her and to thank her personally. Katie was delighted to meet her heroine, as we all were. Eileen was inspirational! She spoke about the importance of hard work, commitment and teamwork and spent the morning meeting pupils and staff. Thank you Eileen for a lovely visit, and thank you Katie for writing such a great letter! Katie is now looking forward to being a team mascot at Ireland's next match against Georgia! Come on you Girls in Green!
